FSG was responsible for the private prosecution of the case in coordination with the Discrimination and Hate Crime Service of the Barcelona Prosecutor´s Office. The court ruled in favour of the woman and convicted the officers to two years imprisonment and 12,000 € compensation.

A survey conducted by the Fundación Secretariado Gitano warns that the fundamental right to education is not sufficiently guaranteed in the case of Roma youth.

The survey highlights the wide gap between Roma and non-Roma students: the dropout rate is 51 percentage points higher.
